Our Story

Overtop was founded by Mitchell Varian, a current public school teacher in Oakland, California. The idea for the bowls came from a common challenge faced by many students: finding the motivation to wake up and get to school on time. Mitchell set out to create a product that would spark joy in the morning—a reason for young people to look forward to breakfast.

Noticing that many of his students were skipping breakfast or eating alone, he designed these bowls to turn the morning routine into something special. Each bowl features a whimsical character or scene at the center, making breakfast more fun and inviting. The goal is simple: to help kids start their day with a smile.
